Aldebaran Contracting’s head office is located 60km out of Darwin, remote works are completed across the Northern Territory on a 3/1 roster.

Remuneration is based on a flat rate and experience.

Available Positions:

Heavy Diesel Mechanic

The successful applicant/s will need to hold the following:

  • Trade qualifications as a Plant Mechanic (or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated ability and recent experience in the repair of earthmoving plant, trucks ,tractor based equipment, light vehicles and small plant
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose, recommend appropriate action for fixing and maintain records of work carried out
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, numeracy skills, and organisation skills
  • Ability to maintain records, work sheets, parts lists and other required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Be prepared to work away at our construction sites within the NT on a roster
  • Hold a White Card – Construction Industry Card

 

Project Manager

The successful applicant/s will need to hold the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects in accordance with specifications, budgets and required timeframes
  • Experience in similar work environment
  • Appropriate trade qualifications and/or experience, preferably as an operator and/or operator supervisor
  • Previous supervisory experience, and willingness and ability to oversee and direct staff to achieve required outcomes
  • Solid understanding of and ability to implement Workplace Health and Safety legislation requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of maintenance / operational requirements of plant and equipment
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, numeracy skills, and organisation skills
  • Good IT/computer/technology/GPS skills and ability to utilise on the job
  • Punctual and reliable approach to work hours.
  • Current NT HR licence
  • Willingness and ability to work away from home, in a work camp situation on a project roster

 

Administration Assistant

The successful applicant/s will need to hold the following:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Information Management principles
  • Demonstrated experience in a broad range of general office procedures including word processing, photocopying, and opening and distributing mail
  • Understanding of accurate records management processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of office technology & telecommunication requirements
  • Well-developed computer skills, using Microsoft Office, and ability to learn and effectively utilise other computer systems and technology
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, and well developed oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work accurately and under pressure, with minimal supervision, but be able to take direction
  • Demonstrated ability to attend to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Willingness to respond to multiple requests at any one time and ability to prioritise workload
  • Construction Industry White Card, or ability to acquire
  • Current NT Drivers Licence

The position is based at Acacia 60 Kms from Darwin

 

Plant Operators (Scraper, Loader, Excavator, Grader, Roller)

The successful applicant/s will need to hold the following:

  • Construction white card,
  • Machine Operating Experience
  • Ability to work in remote areas and under pressure
  • Machine Competency
  • Service and vehicle maintenance understanding
  • Current drivers licence

 

Auto Electrician

The successful applicant will need to hold the following:

  • Construction white card,
  • Trade qualifications as an Auto Electrician and demonstrated ability and recent experience in the repair of earthmoving plant, trucks or tractor based equipment
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose electrical malfunction within automotive systems, recommend appropriate action for fixing and undertake repairs
  • Current NT HR Drivers licence
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to install electrical systems and knowledge of fundamentals of electrical wiring
  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to maintain records, work sheets, parts lists and other required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner

 

Traffic Controller

  • Hold WZ2 and WZ3
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively while unsupervised and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to comply with Workplace Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental legislation.
  • Follow precise instructions
  • Excellent reading and writing skills, including the ability to fill in forms and documentation and read and implement traffic management plans  and carry out audits
  • Good understanding and knowledge of information technology practices, including the ability to use email and mobile phone
  • Good communications skills
  • Punctual and reliable approach to work hours.
  • Current NT licence
  • Willingness and ability to work away from home, in a work camp situation
  • Construction Induction Certificate (White Card)
